[The first thing that is really noticeable is the Time Lord's nose. It's bright red and extremely swollen, and there's still dried blood crusted down his face. He looks positively miserable.]

So ah...Master broke my nose.

It wasn't on purpose! Wellllllll, no, yes, it was, but I deserved it. Weeelllll, sort of, past me deserved it, but...it's a long story.

Point being, how do I not make it so...lumpy? And painful?

[He opens the door just a few moments later, smiling politely at the guest. At least he's cleaned up most of the blood at this point? ~~Though to be honest, it was probably the Master that did it.~~]

Come in, thanks for coming.

[Well, at least he's not horribly mangled, right? Sokka stands on the threshold, unsure he wants to make the time commitment to stay. Then again, he could use some of the tea himself...]

It's not a problem. I'm on the police force, so if there's anything like that again, you can call me next time. Maybe before you end up with a broken nose...

[Sokka steps inside and offers the bowl of bark and the rag. He's met the Doctor before, but his mind has since been altered by the Master to completely forget the pertinent details of their meeting (and the fact that the Master had murdered Sokka's good friend, Aang). So, really, this is a bit like meeting again: We're sure you're familiar with that, Doctor!]

It was sort of sudden. [He shrugs sheepishly.] Those gravestones had him on edge and I was clearly not the person he wanted to see.

Right. [Sokka raises an eyebrow.] So, he was surprised, then? [And since the Doctor doesn't seem to be interested in taking the bark, the young man sort of creeps past him and goes to find materials to make the tea. This is... weird. He's not usually the servant type, okay? :| ]

And angry. [shrug, shuts the door. Hey, he has no idea what to do okay, you have to show him. He honestly has no clue how to do any of these normal things.]

[Sokka stops.] So it was a... domestic disturbance?

A domestic...

That makes it sound like...

No! No no no. No. He just was angry, and I was there, and...

Does it really matter how it happened?

[Well, it just seemed like the Doctor was staying at the domicile, so...] That depends on whether you want the law to get involved or not.

I definitely do not want the law involved.

I didn't even know there was a "law" here.

[Sokka shakes his head and goes to find some water.] Do you have anything to make tea with? Or should I have brought that as well?

I haven't been here long...You'll have to look around.

[Well. Sokka raises an eyebrow and then shrugs and goes back to looking around.] So you were here and then gone and now you're here again? Do you remember anything? About the last time, I mean? Or about the time you were away?

People keep telling me I was here, but if I was, I don't recall it in the slightest. [He shrugs]

Huh.

[Sokka mulls on the thought, finding some things he might use to make the willow bark tea. Here's hoping this is the correct application, because Sokka does not want to be responsible for poisoning someone just because he brewed instead of chewed.]

My sister told me I was here before, too, but I don't remember. Can't imagine I'd have left if I had the choice, you know?

[No, actually he...doesn't.] Why would you stay?

[He gives the Doctor a look. Sure, Sokka's bruises and cuts are a product of Adstringendum and his life's been getting steadily more miserable as time goes on, but he's got reasons for wanting to stay. Good reasons.] Can't leave my sister alone here, for one, and I don't want to leave behind the friends I've made here, either; I'd rather stay and help them.

How long have you been here?

Half a year, or so. [He's working on crushing some of that bark into the bowl, working at it with his hands.]

Quite some time.

Guess so. Time doesn't really matter here, so I don't really think about it much.

Interesting. [He nods, frowning faintly.]

[Sokka laughs awkwardly.] Yeah, okay, I get it; you're not much on conversation. If you wanna go sit down or something, I can bring this tea when I'm done.

I'm completely out of my element here. [small shrug]

I'll be in the living room. It's just over there.

[It takes the young tribesman many more minutes than usual to finish making the tea, but he manages... something close to what's intended. He carefully brings a cup out into the living room and offers it out to the Doctor.] Here: I hope it's not terrible.

I'm sure it's fine. [sips at it gingerly.]
